Application Steps:

Allergy warning:  This tape uses latex-based adhesives. Those with latex allergies should not use this tape product.

Discontinue use if a skin reaction presents.

1) Wash and dry feet, no lotion helps the tape stick best.

2) Pick up section 1 and peel back paper from rounded edge

3) Affix rounded edge of tape over ball of foot just under the base of the toes

4) Peel off the remainder of section 1 paper, keep the split tails separated and  loosely and temporarily affix to either side of your heel.

5) Pick up section 2 and peel back paper from think long arms.

6) Gently separate arms and affix point of junction under midpoint of ball of foot

7) Wrap long arms each direction around and above big and little toe joints to affix on top of foot.

8)  Peel off the remainder of section 2 paper, keep the split tails separated and  loosely and temporarily affix to either side of your heel - joining with section 1 tails.

9) Rub the ball of foot area to ensure a firm adhesion.

10) Relax foot- pull tails to create tension near end point permissible

11) Affix small toe side first wrapping tail around back of heel and gently rub to affix.

12) Remember to relax the foot - Pull big toe tail to its end point and affix around back of heel to outside of foot.

13) Rub to set adhesion

14) Remove backing from the small section 3 cover piece, stretch tape about 3/4 tension, and set sideways over ball of foot with ends wrapping just over the top of the foot. Rub to affix.

Adjustment: Up to an hour after application the tape may stretch a little.

15) Peel back the big toe tail ending on outside of foot, retension to end point, reaffix to foot. Rub to ensure adhesion.

This should last about three days in normal wearing conditions. Water from showers will dry and not negatively impact the taping.

If pain begins to creep back in during use then try to retension as described in step 15. New applications should be considered 48-72 hours as the tape will fatigue in tensile strength and adhesive quality.

Reapplication tips and tricks: It is ideal to clean the area after removing an application. Expect that a residue will probably be left. Residue may be removed with soap and water, mineral oil, and/or gentle rubbing.

The point of the tape is to allow healing. Choosing to bear weight during this time of healing will stress the repairing tissue. Walking will make that damage worse. Try to avoid these activities without a replacement application affixed.

Evidence that its working: Your pain should be substantially reduced while walking with first applications. First steps of the day should feel better and better as each day goes by. Full recovery may take 1-3 weeks of applications. It is best to follow our guidance on assessing and managing the kinetic chain (knees, hips, SI joints, etc) during this time. Rehabilitation specialists (physical therapists, athletic trainers) can assist with this process if you would like directed assistance.

Final notes: This isn't the most comfortable of experiences. We get that. It's just plain awkward actually. We find awkward is better than stabbing pain and we hope this helps you find long-term resolution.
